Tinospora cordifolia is a woody climbing vine of Menispermaceae family native to tropical Asia. Seeds have short viability (high germination 7 days, declining to 13% at 3 months). Seeds have strict light requirement and show improved germination with cold stratification and fluctuating temperatures.

Fresh seeds germinate best; use gibberellic acid or potassium nitrate for aged or slow-germinating seeds. Maintain 75% humidity. Seeds are slow to germinate (weeks to months). Cuttings propagate very easily as alternative to seed propagation.
