Oxylobium ellipticum is a native Australian shrub reaching 2-3m with golden-yellow pea flowers and elliptic leaves. Found in montane to alpine habitats.

Before sowing

Scarification

Hot water treatment is the main pre-treatment. Seeds germinate readily after swelling.

Tips

Seeds should be sown on surface of porous mix and will lodge in pores. Place in warm shaded or semi-shaded position. Keep warm and moist. Be patient as some wild harvested seeds take longer to germinate.
