How to germinate Leucaena leucocephala

Leucaena leucocephala is a fast-growing legume native to southern Mexico and Central America. Seeds have physical dormancy due to hard seed coat but germinate readily after scarification. Optimal germination achieved with mechanical scarification or hot water treatment followed by high temperature regimes.

Soak

Seeds possess hard, impermeable seed coat requiring scarification. Untreated seeds show only 2-10% germination.

Tips
