Tips
For optimal germination: scarify seeds mechanically (light nicking with sandpaper or nail clippers) or use hot water treatment, then soak in room temperature water for 24 hours before sowing. Sow seeds 0.25-0.5 inch deep in darkness on moist substrate. Maintain cool temperatures (55-65°F / 13-18°C) and high humidity during germination. Keep constant moisture but avoid waterlogging. Once seedlings emerge with first true leaves, gradually expose to light and harden off for 4-5 weeks before transplanting to permanent location. Support with trellis as plants develop tendrils.
