Haldina cordifolia (syn. Adina cordifolia) is a multipurpose deciduous tree species native to southern Asia. The tree has very poor natural regeneration due to its small, winged seeds which leads to low germination and establishment percentages. Seed treatment with cold water soaking improves germination rates.

Tips
Sow seeds in a seed-box placed in light shade and protected from heavy rain. Water frequently but carefully with a very fine spray. Seedlings ready for transplanting in about 2-3 months. Keep soil moist. Transplanting risk is high due to drought sensitivity; maintain soil ball around roots. Use baskets or bamboo tubes instead of open beds to avoid root disturbance during transplanting.
