Cionosicyos macranthus, commonly called Chinese Passionfruit Melon or Porcelain Melon, is a vigorous climbing vine from the Cucurbitaceae family native to Mexico and Central America. Despite its misleading common name, it is neither from China nor related to passion fruit, but produces large, sweet, papaya-flavored fruits with striking yellow-orange coloration. Seeds germinate readily under warm, humid conditions with light, typically within 1-2 weeks when properly treated.
