Bidens pilosa is an annual herbaceous plant in the Asteraceae family, native to tropical America. It produces dimorphic achenes (central and peripheral seeds) with different germination requirements. Light-dependent germination makes it unsuitable for deep sowing.
Before sowing
Cold stratification (4 weeks for central achenes, 12 weeks for peripheral achenes) and GA3 significantly increase germination. Seeds have non-deep physiological dormancy.

What to expect
Tips
