Baccaurea angulata, commonly known as Jungle Starfruit or Blood Starfruit, is a rare tropical fruit tree endemic to Borneo rainforests. The species produces striking bright red, star-shaped fruits with edible white flesh that are rarely found in cultivation. Seeds germinate relatively quickly when fresh, usually within a few days to two weeks, with optimal results in warm, humid tropical conditions.

Tips
Use freshly extracted seeds for best germination rates, as seed viability decreases rapidly with storage. Keep substrate consistently moist but not waterlogged to prevent fungal issues. Maintain warm, humid conditions (high humidity essential) in a shaded location during germination. Apply fungicide preventatively in high-humidity environments. The species grows well in lowland conditions (45-170 m altitude) and prefers soil pH of 6-6.5. As a dioecious species, both male and female plants are needed for fruit production. This is a slow-growing species; patience is required.
