This ornamental aloe forms attractive rosettes with thick, spiny leaves and produces tubular flowers ranging from yellow to reddish-orange. Sow seeds fresh for best viability on coarse, well-draining sandy soil and cover lightly with fine grit. Use a humidity dome for the first 1-2 weeks to maintain moisture levels, then switch to light shade-cloth. Water from below with a long-lasting fungicide solution to prevent damping-off fungus. Seeds prefer bright, indirect light and warm temperatures around 27°C. After germination, keep seedlings warm and moist but allow surface to dry between waterings. Reduce misting as seedlings grow. Most seeds germinate within 2-5 weeks.
